Home Game Tutorial #3: Crazy Pineapple
Crazy Pineapple is probably my favorite poker game that is not commonly found in casinos or cardrooms. It’s the perfect mix between Hold’em and Omaha.
Like Hold’em and Omaha, there is a dealer button and small and big blinds that shift to the left every hand. It can be played fixed limit, pot limit, or no limit. To start, deal each player three hole cards. There is a preflop betting round and then the flop comes. After the flop, each player discards one of their hole cards face down into the muck. Then the hand plays out exactly like hold’em.
Crazy Pineapple is not found in many places outside of home games. However, I did find a casino that did host a tournament. The Canterbury Park Casino in Minnesota hosts a tournament every month.
