Rampage asks viewers for a stake in $1,000,000 game.
Poker vlogger Ethan Yau, a.k.a. Rampage, released a video today titled: “I need $1,000,000” to raise funds to participate in the Hustler Casino Live Million Dolar Buy-in Game. Over the past few months, Rampage has been on a massive losing streak, the most notable part of which was when he lost $483,300 on Hustler Casino Live. After this loss, players reported seeing him at 1/3 tables.
I am going to write this article in a different way than most articles are written. as of writing this, I have not seen the video. I will watch it and put in my live reactions in timestamps. If you want, you can even follow along. Grab yourself a snack and a glass of orange juice, and try not to punch a hole through your screen because here we go!

0:11 Ethan talks about the view behind him in Sydney, which begs the question of why is he in Sydney on vacation if he needs money.
1:30 He then goes on to talk about his “Road to $1,000,000” bankroll build challenge. I feel like a good poker player would not need to ask their fans for money when doing this challenge.
1:54 He references the fact that he is doing a 100 times bigger challenge than his 0 to 10k challenge after losing at the lodge, which to me shows how he is spiraling out of control and punting everything he worked for. also says “My math is really bad” which is something no respectable poker player would ever say.
2:51 “I was just punting, I was tilted”. Ethan is not selling himself as someone who I should stake.
3:27 “I just really like the stress”. This statement worries me. It reminds me of the procrastinating student who says he works better under pressure, combined with a gambling addict whose wife left him.
3:50 Ethan then offers to let people bet against him in the upcoming World Series of Poker in response to people trashing him on social media. It shows how even not on the felt, he gets tilted easily and that leads him to handle his money poorly.
6:33 Ethan announces he is playing in the Million Dollar Game and all I can think about is Matt Damon buying in for his whole bankroll at the start of “Rounders”. And we all know how that ends.
7:20 Ethan says he is letting people stake him on StakeKings, and that he will only buy in for one buy-in.
8:16 Ethan shows the million-dollar bluff, a play often regarded as a punt, as one of his highlights, which tells you everything you need to know about this man’s poker career.
11:55 Ethan says that if anyone would take him up on the bet against him, he would refund all the markup he charged on StakeKings for WSOP. That is the one thing from this video that I will respect him for.
Overall, this is a bad situation for Rampage, and I don’t see it ending well. If anyone is considering staking him, I suggest you just play roulette instead. You have a better chance of winning there.
