My time playing at a beginner online poker Club

I was approached on social media today by someone asking if I wanted to help sponsor their new online club. They said that players could earn points playing which could be redeemed for prizes. I didn’t want to say yes, so I looked at their site, and when I found out that it was a tight-knit group of fun and passionate players, I was in. He told me there would be a freeroll that night, and I offered to review it.

The tournament started at 8 pm. I started losing chips, but after a hero call with Ace High, I doubled up and was in 11th out of 34 players by the first half hour. However, I started bleeding chips for a little while, until I won with A7 at 23 big blinds, following that came two double-ups with pocket twos, which gave me the chip lead. It would not last, because of a few big pots I would later lose. I had an average stack when registration closed. I wanted to make a deal when there were 9 people left and there were 17. I just needed to outlast 8 people. I go all in with A2 and 13 big blinds. Unfortunately, the opponent had AK. So I lost, but I had a lot of fun.

The player base is mostly new players and recreational players, which is nice because that means I stand a chance. Additionally, the players are all super friendly. Most people have their names and faces on display while playing, so it feels more like you’re playing at a live table, which is much appreciated.

As well as the monthly freeroll tournament, the site offers nightly cash games and other tournaments for points. There are also sit&gos which can be played at any time and only require 2 or 3 players. I wouldn’t advertise for something I wouldn’t use myself, and I will continue to play at this club.
